Bill Leubscher

Bill M. Leubscher, age 27, is currently single. He is a regular contributor to FreeRepublic.com, and is accomplished screenwriter, editor, caricature artist, and digital effects designer. Bill was born and raised in Evergreen Park, Illinois.

Bill received his A.A. in Film & Theatre from Moraine Valley College and then went on to receive a B.A. in Film/Video at Columbia College, concentrating in Critical Studies and Media Relations. In 2007, he took additional classes in Education Studies and now teaches at a private pre-school academy for children.

While in college, Bill became politically active as he was elected to one of five at large seats on the Student Government Association at Columbia. As an SGA trustee, he chaired the Election & Rules Committee and was also named Outstanding Student Leader of the Year twice. Bill was one of the select few chosen as delegate to both the National Student Leadership Conference in St. Louis and to the Arts, Media & Liberty seminar in Philadelphia. He also led the effort against MAP grant cuts from the Illinois legislature, led the successful effort to sell the college President’s unused Gold Coast residence, and spoke out against the College Board’s resolutions passed without student consultation.

Bill is best known as the creating the controversial NoLaHood.com website, which ridiculed the actions of now retiring U.S. Congressman Ray LaHood of Peoria. Many politicians stood with him in denouncing LaHood for his comments on Peter Fitzgerald and other politicians; others chose to stand by LaHood.

In 2004, he ran for the local Library Board and again created controversy. The ballot listed three seats to vote on with one vacant. Bill ran a successful write-in campaign for the empty office. The city of Chicago claimed there were only two available seats on the board even though three appeared on the ballot and refused to let him hold office for the term he won. Bill did not contest the decision, but media including The Daily Southtown, a suburban Chicago newspaper, and included editorials in his favor.

Bill is the proud creator and owner PhotoAirbrushing.net, formerly known as PhotoAirbrushing.com. He first launched this website in 2004, first working as a team and later as a solo project. The website is without political bias.

Bill is active in various charitable organizations throughout Illinois. A member of the steering committee of the Illinois Center Right Coalition since 2005, he currently serves as the organization’s Executive Director. He enjoys Star Trek in his free time and is a descendant of the famous U.S. Senator and orator Daniel Webster.
